The SARS Hospital for the Reception of Patients reopened in Beijing COVID-19

More than 600 health workers from 22 hospitals in China were sent to the SARS hospital, which was reopened due to increased pressure in the city amid new cases of coronavirus infection, Xinhua news agency reported. From 5am to midnight on March 16, the hospital received 35 patients who were awaiting a health check. They arrived at Beijing City Capital International Airport from different countries. One UK passenger was then identified with a new coronavirus. In the hospital Xiaotanshan, located in the northern suburbs of the city, 1600 beds appeared after the repair there. It will be used to receive incoming passengers awaiting a health check. Recall that the hospital was built specifically for the reception of patients with SARS pneumonia in 2002. On January 30 of this year the repair began there. About 15,000 people took part in the repair process, which ended on March 15. Almost 60 thousand square meters of space were repaired and another 22.5 thousand square meters were added.
