New oil reserves of more than 228 million tons found in Chinese Xinjiang

A new fault zone with oil reserves of more than 228 million tons has been found PetroChina the Tarim oil and gas field owned by the Chinese company Shengha, according to Xinhua news agency on April 8. It is expected that the field can provide oil production in the amount of about 30 million tons of oil equivalent in 2020 ode and 36 million tons by 2025. The field is located in Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region in north-west China, where China's largest oil basin is located. Oil production here is burdened by extremely difficult relief and underground conditions. According to the news agency, the Tarimskoe field set a record of gas production in 2019, when more than 28 billion cubic meters were produced, which is 1.9 billion more than a year earlier.
