Prime Minister of Ukraine advises flood victims to continue to insure homes
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal advises people who live in flood-problematic regions of Western Ukraine to insure their housing. He stated this at a briefing on June 24, commenting on the situation with floods in the region, the news agency correspondent reports. The head of government confirmed that bad weather has already affected five regions of western Ukraine, and the worst situation in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. According to preliminary data, 500 million hryvnias will be allocated to eliminate the consequences in this region. In general, according to the head of government, the situation with floods in the western regions remains critical, only in certain mountainous regions there is an improvement in water level. At the same time, Shmygal said that Transcarpathia of Ukraine was not affected very much, since the protective structures that were built in the region after the flood in 1998 are working, the news agency recalls that large-scale flooding due to bad weather and floods is currently observed in the western regions of Ukraine. Rescuers record numerous destruction, at least three people became victims of the disaster.
