In Egypt, young women sentenced to two years for video in TikTok

Several Egyptian citizens were sentenced to two years in prison on July 27 for publishing indecent dancing videos on the social network TikTok, the Associated Press reported. In addition, as follows from the materials of the prosecutor's office, women will have to pay a fine of 300 thousand Egyptian pounds, almost $19 thousand, for violating the values ​ ​ and principles of the Egyptian family, as well as propaganda of promiscuity and human trafficking. Law enforcement agencies of the republic named the names of two convicts 20-year-old Hanin Hossam and 22-year-old Mavada Eladhm. Recently, both women have gained great popularity in TikTok. The case also includes three other defendants who helped Hossam and Eladhm distribute their materials. Lawyers for the convicts announced their readiness to appeal the court decision.
