Iranian Speaker expresses condolences to Japan
On July 8, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis), Mohammad Baker Kalibaf, in a message to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Tadamori Oshima and the Chairman of the House of Advisers of Japan Akiko Santo, expressed condolences on the death of the Japanese as a result of floods and landslides on Honshu island. Please accept my deepest condolences and convey my condolences to the members of parliament, the Government and the people of Japan, and especially to the families of the victims, he added. In another message, Santo Calibaf wished patience to the affected families and recovery to the wounded. Flooding caused by the recent heavy rains in southern Japan caused severe damage to residential areas, killing 51 people. As a result, 13 went missing.
