In the Triller media platform, which is an analogue of the Chinese TikTok application, a confirmed account of US President Donald Trump appeared. It is reported by The New York Times. The Triller platform is owned by the Los Angeles-based company of the same name. Like TikTok's main competitor, Triller is used to create and distribute short videos using a smartphone camera. The number of visits to the Triller platform increased sharply after August 6. On this day, the US president signed a decree restricting the financial activities of ByteDance (owner TikTok) in the United States. On August 15, Trump himself became a user of Triller. Three short videos were uploaded to his account, the first of which collected almost a million views. As previously reported by the news agency, on August 16, US President Donald Trump announced a possible ban on the activities of other large Chinese technology companies in the United States, including Alibaba.
