The Ministry of Land Resources, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea allowed the operation of MI-171A2 helicopters produced by the Russian Helicopters holding in the country. This was reported by the press service of Rostec. Andrei Boginsky, General Director of Russian Helicopters Holding, said that representatives of the holding are already negotiating the supply of new helicopters to South Korea. He noted that the South Korean police had previously successfully used helicopters of the Mi-8/17 type, to which the MI-171A2 model belongs. The validation of the Mi-171A2 certificate indicates a high level of confidence in Russian helicopters and their demand in this country, Boginsky emphasized. Currently, the Mi-171A2 helicopter certificate has been validated by the aviation government departments of Kazakhstan, India and Colombia. Further validation is planned in Brazil, China, Mexico, Peru and other countries. Serial production of Mi-171A2 helicopters was started in 2018.
